This past Friday, a check with your generous donations was presented to Pastor Hesham Shehab of Salam Christian Fellowship in Lombard, Illinois, serving Muslim refugees throughout the Chicago land area. The funds will help pay for medications for some of the people he serves. The losses and struggles of being a refugee and adjusting to living in America are difficult any time of the year.
The Christmas holidays just intensify the joys and losses for many refugees. The feelings of joy, peace, and newfound security are mixed with the loss of family and friends who died or were left behind in a camp or country of origin, the loss of home and all their belongings, their job, and their county. For some, this struggle is made worse by illness and the need for medical care and medications. Your donations throughout the year and especially during the holidays, have eased this burden for several refugees.
Thank you for sharing the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ to these brothers and sisters in their time of sorrow and struggle.
