Helping Haiti, One Family at a Time
Shoes for Children in Tent Cities
Your generous donations have put shoes on the feet of so many children, but there are many more who are still barefoot and need our help. Shoes are still available for purchase in Haiti and are desperately needed to protect the children from disease. Please contribute now if you are moved to help! Thank you for your compassion for these children. Shoes can be purchased in Haiti for $6 per pair.

With Tropical Storm Isaac and its aftereffects, clean drinking water and the risk of cholera are once again on the rise. With a family water filter, this risk for a family is eliminated. Cost of a water filter for a family is $45.

Tropical Storm Isaac wiped out most people's gardens and banana trees which was their source of food and to some their only source of income. Please help us provide food for these families until their gardens and trees grow back, approximately 6-8 months.

Because of the terrible condition of the roads, motorcycles are the most efficient means of transportation for many of the pastors who must travel many miles between the different churches that they serve and to get to their members.More motorcycles are desperately needed. A new motorcycle costs $1,000 and is an important tool that helps the pastors to minister to their members and spread the Gospel throughout Haiti.

LCC is partnering with Trinity Lutheran Church in Urbana to collect funds for the seminary in Haiti to help them with the training of new pastors.
In January 2012, two years after the earthquake, a Lutheran Seminary was dedicated in Haiti.
The goal of the Lutheran Church in Haiti is to train and ordain 50 men for the ministry by the year 2019.
Many of the classes have been taught but additional courses are still needed. The main obstacle to overcome is the expense to gather the men together to train them. But for only $150.00 per student we can gather these men together for two weeks. That $150.00 includes transportation to the seminary (long bus rides), lodging and food.
During the two weeks they will be in class for 10-12 hours a day and will receive training in 4 subjects. Please pray for and support these men. Each sponsor will receive a prayer card with information about the seminarian.
Facts about the Lutheran Church of Haiti
* 80 Lutheran Churches
* 30 additional preaching Stations
* 23 Ordained Pastors
* No Pastors in Haiti receive a salary
* Currently 47 men in seminary training
We ask that you prayerfully consider helping support the Haitian Lutheran Church in its mission to train new pastors and help spread the Word of God to those in Haiti.
