Storytelling Writer/Editor & Content Strategist
LCC Communications Team is seeking a creative, strategic-thinking writer and content producer with heart for ministry and Christ-centered service. This position exists to create, develop, and publish compelling, editorial-style stories for Lutheran Church Charities. The individual in this role is a skilled storyteller who acts as a brand journalist, finding and producing multimedia content that increases awareness of LCC, highlights ministry impact and values, builds audience trust, and drives engagement across owned media channels. This position ensures clarity, consistency, effectiveness, and brand adherence across all communications, including digital, print, social, audio, and donor-facing materials. The role assists the Director of Communications in editing the content contributions of freelancers and volunteers — and collaborates with the Communications Team and ministry area directors on key ministry initiatives and campaigns.

- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, strategic communication, or related field

- Content production computer knowledge and skills (Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiar with Associated Press style guidelines

Assistant K-9 Trainer
LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry is seeking a dependable, hardworking dog lover with experience handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments for the role of Assistant Trainer. Learn and use LCC’s established training curriculum to guide volunteer puppy raisers, creating positive, safe, and engaging learning experiences. Training sites are located in Northbrook and East Dundee, IL. This role requires housing a puppy in training. (All food, supplies, and veterinary expenses are covered by LCC.) Applicants unable to house a puppy will not be considered.

As a volunteer, you’ll foster a puppy in training, support socialization and basic training, and attend weekly classes with LCC staff trainers. Many volunteers return year after year for the strong community, spiritual growth, and the joy of serving alongside these amazing dogs.
New training classes at Lutheran Church Charities headquarters – Northbrook, IL
LCC provides all food, supplies, and veterinary care.
Must be 18 or older
