Latreveon’s mom shares that she is prayerful that he will continue his education at Christ the King. The small class size, Christian education, and family atmosphere bring structure and support to Latreveon and their family. Cayman’s mom shares that she is grateful for all the help that your donations provide to her son. It’s important for Cayman to remain at Christ the King Lutheran School this year. The Christian education Cayman receives is so important for his future. |
Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child, $3000 for a year of schooling, or donate as you are able, that they may have hope for their future! Your generous donation will enable Christ the King to continue the ministry of Christ-changing lives through their dedicated staff. |
Sheryl provided the following update about Kierlena:
Kierlena has been a delight to work with over the last year, and I have all confidence she would be a good steward of this kind of gift. Since giving birth to her baby, she has been working full time at a daycare center as well as working on getting her GED. She is a model resident! She was born in Haiti (she grew up in an orphanage there). She is a wonderful mother and very determined to make a good and safe life for her and her son. We love her dearly. Thanks to you and the entire staff for all you do to help God's people. Please let me know if you need anything further from us.
Peace in Christ,
Sheryl DeWitt

Please prayerfully consider helping Kierlena with the gift of a donated vehicle or a monetary donation toward purchasing a used vehicle so that Kierlena can continue her journey towards independence.
Thank you so much for your continued support of this mom and her children. The need is great and continuous.
The children are back in school and doing well. Mom is trying very hard to get the house on the market since the mortgage payment is high. She has a line on a job, but it won't be feasible until late October. In the meantime, she is doing odd jobs here and there that don't pay very much. She thanks you all so very much for all the support and prayers.
Thank you to all that have donated. The need for this family is great and ongoing. If so moved, please consider a donation to help this mother provide for her family.
The golf outing brought together many of Andy's friends and family to honor his memory and was a fundraiser for the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry. The Andrew Whowell Memorial Golf Outing raised $2,750 for the LCC K-9 Police Ministry in honor of Andy and the good works he did as an LCC K-9 Police Ministry handler.
Andy was a retired Deputy Chief for the Arlington Heights Police Department and an amazing handler for LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Susie (St. Peter - Arlington Heights, Illinois). Both Andy and Susie are Permanently Deployed Serving the Saints and are missed every day by many.
LCC thanks Ray Cowin for organizing the Andrew Whowell Golf Outing and his support for the LCC K-9 Ministry.
Being a national ministry, we were able to provide five LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their ministry teams from three states at the conference:
Kansas
- LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Keren and her team Carol Kratzner and John Kratzner (Immanuel - Ellsworth, Kansas)
Oklahoma
- LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Miriam and her team Heather McCarty and Denise Jeck (Emmanuel - Kingfisher, Oklahoma)
- LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Persis and her team Roxanne Hurry and Steve Hurry (King of Kings - Glenpool, Oklahoma)
Texas
- LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Elijah and his team Eddie Carlton and Steve Marten (Our Redeemer - Wichita Falls, Texas)
- LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Triton and his team Mary Jo Cuny and Katherine Wolfe (Messiah - Plano, Texas)
On Friday, the teams started their day greeting attendees to the Animal Conference at the Contemporary Arts Museum. The Kirkpatrick Foundation set up several visits for the Comfort Dogs to do what we do best -- being out in the community offering comfort to those in need. The group visited the Kipp OKC school and met with excited 4th and 5th graders who had a chance to learn about the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry and spend time with each of the Comfort Dogs. |
The last stop of the day was visiting with staff at the Oklahoma Children’s Hospital. The staff is feeling the pressure of long hours and little break from the many children hospitalized.
On Saturday, the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their ministry teams visited with children and adults at the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.
The LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs were well received by all at our visits, and we thank the Kirkpatrick Foundation for the opportunity to serve out in the community.
The Saturday event with the Comfort Dogs was amazing! About 25 kids attended the event and they had a fabulous time. The kids made sure to meet each dog and loved getting the individual trading cards.

I cannot say thank you enough for thinking of our students and providing this very much-needed dose of serotonin! I saw some kids literally bouncing away. What a wonderful opportunity and we are truly grateful.

Your visit today was an absolute hit! We had a wonderful turnout, a ton of smiles, lots of compliments, and plenty of care team members feeling refreshed… even amidst the heat.

Pastor Ed Brashier, Southern District Disaster Response Coordinator, will begin assessments in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama as soon as it is safe to do so. Mid-South District President Rev. Dr. Roger Paavola stated he would closely watch the storm’s path through his district in Mississippi and Tennessee. Both intend to keep LCC posted on the effects of Hurricane Ida on their respective Districts and how LCC can assist with recovery efforts.

Your donations needed for LCC to purchase
desperately needed supplies for most vulnerable Haitians
Meanwhile, Grace lashed Haiti as a tropical depression on Monday, August 16, dumping up to 10 inches of rain before regaining tropical storm status early Tuesday. The heavy rains pelted people huddling in fields and searching for survivors.
To make matters worse, Haiti is also struggling with the coronavirus pandemic, recovery from other disasters, and the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse last month.
Travel to the most affected areas is still difficult but not impossible, so the desperately needed supplies can be purchased in Haiti and delivered to the affected areas.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere and is in desperate need of help. Our Mission Partners will use your donations to bring relief to those most affected by this latest disaster. Please donate generously to help the people of Haiti as they once again face a devastating humanitarian crisis. |
Scholarships Needed For Christ The King Lutheran School Students
Scholarship Goal: $54,000
to Support 18 of the School's Total and Growing Enrollment through the 2021-2022 School Year
As the church's finances changed, Pastor John and Geri, out of their love of the students and commitment to their community, do not take a salary.
Supporting Christ the King Lutheran School is an investment in an incredible ministry where life-changing relationships are established, and an incredible education is earned.
Your Donations Make a Difference in Taniya's and Sheridan's Lives
Taniya’s mom shares: “Taniya is entering 8th grade, a developmental milestone. We are excited about this school year and would really love for her to be able to graduate from Christ the King. She loves playing violin, dancing, and learning new things. Taniya’s father, the sole provider, passed away due to COVID-19, which has created uncertainty for Taniya. The stability and family of Christ the King School is important for her as she prepares to enter high school." |
Sheridan’s mom shares: "Sheridan loves Christ the King Lutheran School, and the education she is getting there is great. We wouldn’t want our child educated anywhere else! Due to family financial responsibilities, we are asking for help with Sheridan’s tuition." Please prayerfully consider sponsoring a child, $3000 for a year of schooling, or donate as you are able, that they may have hope for their future! |
"We spoke with many families who had lost a child - the afternoon was filled with emotional moments and parents who wanted to share their feelings and stories. Several families expressed appreciation for the "comfort" of the dogs and their presence. A person always thinks of the parents, but there were many siblings who also suffered a loss. We witnessed a lot of courage, faith in God, and strength in these families. It was moving to see the "extra" love parents had for their remaining children after losing one."
Bo's Heavenly Clubhouse: A Child Loss Safe Haven is a nonprofit charity organization located in the heart of Dodge County, Wisconsin.
