The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 Important Ministry Announcement for New Ministry Advancement Lutheran Church Charities, whose mission is to share the Mercy, Compassion, Presence and Proclamation of Jesus Christ to those who are suffering and in need, has been asked by the founder of CROSSES FOR LOSSES to take and further the impact of the ministry he has embraced for 23 years. Greg Zanis Crosses for Losses Testimony, LCC Carrying forward the Cross of Jesus Christ! Greg Zanis from Aurora, Illinois, started Crosses for Losses 23 years ago. The first cross he made was for Nicholas “Nico” Contreras, a 6-year old boy shot and killed in his grandparents’ home in Aurora while sleeping in their back bedroom on November 10, 1996. Since that time Greg, an incredible Christian man, has placed more than 27,000 crosses across the United States. Lutheran Church Charities, with our Crisis Response through our Comfort Dog Ministry and our Disaster Response Ministry, has been supporting many of the same communities as Greg following tragic situations. So, on Christmas Day, when Greg decided to retire, he asked me if LCC would take the ministry to continue to serve individuals, families, and communities that have suffered tragic losses.
So we start today! That is the reason for this appeal. CROSSES FOR LOSSES was not part of our 12/31 Annual Fund and Yearly Appeal (thank you all for your prayers and support in that). We are asking for your support of new resources to be able to move forward with this new ministry. Some costs we foresee:
LCC is a ministry that is NOT in debt, nor will we ever go into debt. We have always relied on God to provide what we need to do His Will. HE always has! With some adjustments to our current facility (that was given to LCC) we can make the crosses here. So this BEGINNING of 2020 – can you help us with the Beginning of a New Ministry – CROSSES FOR LOSSES – for LCC?
Thank you ALL for your prayers and support over the years and for YOU being a valuable part of LCC. It’s all about the people of God working together to serve others in the NAME OF JESUS. If you would like to be involved in some way, please email me at [email protected] or call (866) 455-6466 ext 139 Serving Together, Serving Jesus, so we can Serve Others IN HIS NAME! Tim Hetzner
