Lutheran Church Charities continues to work with our Mission Partners Mission:Haiti and Ministry in Mission to send your donations to purchase and distribute desperately needed supplies to help save and improve the lives of the most vulnerable Haitians. We received the following update from Lophane Laurent after he distributed food to those in need: ![]() Greetings everyone from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I want to thank all of you my friends for continuing to support my Haitian people. Tomorrow (Sunday, May 29) will be Mother’s Day in Haiti. And it will be a big day for the Haitian mothers. So today Mission:Haiti distributed food to 80 families. They received a package of food for 3 or 4 days and I can tell you this is more like a Thanksgiving blessing for them, they asked me to tell you that. Thanks so much in their names. You can imagine how a small bag of 50 lbs of rice cost $30 and a gallon of oil $15 and a package of spaghetti cost $17 and a case of milk $20. Now 60 to 70% of people don’t have a job because most of the businesses are closed or moved to the Dominican Republic so you can imagine when Mission:Haiti and Lutheran Church Charities supports a food distribution what you are doing for them, it’s a lot. I want to say thanks to all of our donors and sponsors and all of the members of LCC and Mission:Haiti for their love and prayers. ![]() Next week our team will visit three different places to do mobile clinics for people who couldn’t afford to go to see a doctor because they do not have money and now because they kidnapped too many doctors and nurses and medical staff so most of the hospitals are closed and the government doesn’t even pay the staff. May God bless you all my friends and bless your families and ministries. Have a great day in the Lord! Blessings, Lophane The needs in Haiti are great and ongoing. Please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation to enable Lutheran Church Charities to continue to send funds to Haiti.
