 FAMILIES IN NEED
 YOUR DONATIONS PURCHASED 40 MICROWAVES FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN FLORIDA AFFECTED BY HURRICANE IAN

Tim Richter, Director of Christian Education (DCE) at Zion Lutheran Church in Fort Myers, Florida, made the delivery of 40 microwaves purchased by Lutheran Church Charities to Debra Mathinos, Chief Programs Officer of Harlem Heights Community Center. These requested items will be distributed to low-income families currently living in fully gutted homes, old campers, and even some tents on their property as they wait for their homes to be repaired or rebuilt after hurricane Ian. This area had experienced the hurricane-driven flood surge. All had 4’-8’ of water throughout their homes, having lost what little they had owned.
 
Ms. Mathinos was very appreciative of the generous donation of microwaves for her families and our willingness to partner with them to help those in need.

INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
 YOUR DONATIONS PROVIDED FOOD FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING CHRISTMAS BREAK

Your generous donations were sent to Haiti to provide food for the students and their families during their Christmas break. LCC received the following update and pictures from Lophane Laurent in Haiti:

There are no words to describe how happy the parents and the kids were to receive their Christmas gift of a food package. We want to thank all of the members of Lutheran Church Charities, especially our donors and sponsors, who gave a chance to these kids to have a blessed Christmas. May God bless you all and your families as well.
 
We love you, and we know you love us, also. May this new year bring peace, love, health, and more charities. Happy New Year, 2023!

On Thursday, December 29, LCC staff members John Pejchl and Dianna Bonfield delivered a check of your donations to Pastor John Brazeal and Principal Geri Brazeal of Christ the King Lutheran Church and School in Chicago, Illinois. The donations will help families in need and ongoing ministry needs.
 
Pastor John and Principal Geri are grateful for the support received by LCC’s donors for blessing their community and their ministry of sharing the love of Jesus with all people.
