![]() On Saturday, July 9, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Charity (Brookfield Lutheran - Brookfield, Wisconsin), Dora, (Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee - Milwaukee, Wisconsin), Julia (King of Glory - Elgin, Illinois), Mary (St. Paul's - Janesville, Wisconsin), and Rhoda (Prince of Peace - Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin), along with individuals from Wisconsin Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) and many Law Enforcement Officers welcomed hundreds of children and spouses of law enforcement officers, who lost their lives in the line of duty, as they arrived at Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. to begin their week at C.O.P.S. Kids Camp (July 9-July 15). C.O.P.S. Kids camp provides much needed respite as well as an opportunity to interact with others from all over the country who live the shared trauma of losing a cherished family member in the line of duty. While in camp the survivors participate in counseling sessions as well as activities such as fishing, archery, canoeing, kayaking, ropes courses and arts & crafts. C.O.P.S. Kids camp allows participants to create long lasting friendships that support them after camp has ended and they return home. Those friendships include the Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs who are lovingly remembered by the kids and spouses each and every year. This year LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dogs Candace (LCC Staff), Dora (Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee - Milwaukee, Wisconsin), and Eve (St. John’s - Lombard, Illinois) will be in attendance throughout the week to support the campers. Please keep all of the participants in your prayers as they work through the grief of losing their loved ones and gain strength by the love and support, they receive at C.O.P.S. Kids camp. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.” Matthew 5:4 Comments are closed.
