LCC received an urgent request from Pastor Don Love at Faith, Merrill & St. John Lutheran Church, Hamburg, Wisconsin, to help a young family with extensive financial burdens.
After a very long and heroic battle with Blastomycosis (a potentially fatal lung fungus), pneumonia, and COVID, by the Grace of God and months of much fervent prayer, this pregnant mother of three survived. She was flown by helicopter in critical condition the day after Christmas to Madison Hospital. The baby was delivered at thirty-one weeks on December 29. Due to the critical lung infection, the mother and infant were instantly separated and the mother was taken to a different hospital. She remained in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) for another two months. After being moved from ICU she still remained hospitalized until March of this year. However, even after returning home in March, her condition continued to waver and she was rushed in and out of the hospital several more times until April 21.
The loss of income has been very difficult for the family. If possible, a goal of at least $10,000 would be helpful to pay off bills that have accumulated that are not related to medical bills.
