Prince of Peace Welcomes Umbreen Upon Her Arrival from Pakistan; Help Still Needed to Relocate Pastor Alfred and His Family

Last summer, Pastor Karl Fay from Prince of Peace in Palatine, Illinois, reached out to Lutheran Church Charities asking for financial assistance to relocate and reunite family members from Pakistan.
 
We are happy to share that the first family member, Umbreen, arrived on Friday, November 8 and was reunited with her sister Anila. This reunion was blessed by the tireless efforts of Anila and Gulfam, the generous support of LCC donors, and fervent prayers by many congregation members, friends, and LCC followers.
 
On Sunday, November 10, Pastor Karl Fay and congregation members welcomed Umbreen to the United States and Prince of Peace. The outpouring of love surrounded them all as they praised God for protecting Umbreen throughout this long process and her journey to the United States.

Anila and Umbreen shared their gratitude to everyone who helped reunite them:

Gulfam, Austin, and I feel so blessed and would like to give a big Thank You to Prince of Peace pastors, congregation, and Lutheran Church Charities donors. We have no words to explain how we feel by everyone’s love and continued prayers for Gulfam's brother and his family, and my sister Umbreen. I am so happy and thankful to God for reuniting me with my sister; we are so happy and thanking God that this day has finally come and for this time together. Umbreen is still thinking it's a dream and said she can't believe she’s here.

Let me take this opportunity to thank our heavenly Father for allowing me to write this email to thank the respective pastors, congregation members, and donors for their support and prayers for me and for my sister and brother-in-law. 
 
My sister and brother-in-law came to the United States 20 years ago, and when they became citizens, they put in a petition for me and my younger sister. After 14 years of waiting, finally my turn came. Arriving Friday, November 8, I feel so blessed to be here on this blessed land. On Sunday, I received a very warm welcome at Prince of Peace; I was speechless by everyone’s love. I would like to thank the pastors and congregation for their prayers, and everyone who generously gave financial support to get me here. I feel like I am in Heaven.

Anila and Gulfam are still working with his brother, Pastor Alfred, and his family to continue to process their visa application. There is great faith and hope that they will be reunited in December before Christmas.
 
Please prayerfully consider donating to help Prince of Peace support all of the family members for a few months after their arrival as they look for a place to live, enroll Pastor Alfred’s children in school, and secure employment once they arrive. Pastor Alfred plans to continue his Christian ministry to the people of Pakistan here.
