On Sunday, June 11, Pastor Chris Singer, LCC President and CEO, was the guest preacher and spiritual leader at Lord of Glory Lutheran Church in Grayslake, Illinois. His sermon explored the varying emotions of the Psalms titled “The Emotion of Empathy” as part of the church’s series “Summer in the Psalms.”
In addition, Pastor Singer also taught a bible study and was provided the opportunity to share about the mission and work of Lutheran Church Charities through K-9, Hearts of Mercy and Compassion, Disaster Response, and Human Care Ministries.
Many of Lord of Glory’s congregation who expressed a passion for service and had been searching for a place to use their gifts felt drawn to learn more about Lutheran Church Charities. One couple stated they were certain “God put us all together for a reason!”
Accompanying Pastor Singer was LCC staff member Dona Martin, K-9 In Process Coordinator, and LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Tobias with handlers Steve and Jenni Hoffmeyer. Also present was a member of the Lutheran Church Charities prayer team, who shared her love of speaking to people through this ministry and felt blessed by the opportunity to pray with them.
