On Sunday, May 3, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Naomi (Holy Cross - Indianapolis, Indiana) and Mercy (Our Savior - Louisville, Kentucky) enjoyed a virtual visit with the Youth Group at First Presbyterian Church, in Lexington, Kentucky. The group had lots of questions of where the K-9s go and what they do.
After the virtual visit, LCC received a wonderful note of thanks:
"Our hearts here at First Presbyterian in Lexington, Kentucky, are overflowing with gratitude for you. Giving us your gift of time was wonderfully wonderful.
Thanks so much for sharing your love and passion of ministry with your beautiful, beautiful dogs. We had the best time hearing you share from your heart a special way to serve our LORD through comfort dogs.
When LCC staff called me to answer my last-minute plea for help (when our local person couldn't bring her dog Cooper), my appreciation started growing for what your ministry is at its core.
You truly are "the paws that refreshes."
Your stories from working disaster areas, to helping children overcome their fear of dogs - all of them are so interesting and important. We also loved learning so many tidbits - like what they eat, how they worship, the importance of their working vest, daily practice of going through commands, the stuffed dogs they give, and the neat way they hug!
Our youth are very special, and of course, have a great love of animals. I know they will remember the lessons you demonstrated through your service.
May the LORD bless you and keep you. Again, a zillion thanks!"
