On Tuesday, April 9, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Mary (St. Paul’s – Janesville, Wisconsin), Charity (Brookfield Lutheran – Brookfield, Wisconsin), and Bekah and Kye (Immanuel – Belvidere, Illinois) were invited to Milton High School in Milton, Wisconsin, to comfort students, staff and faculty after the death of a student.
Each Comfort Dog ministry team was given a separate room in which to visit students, which was very helpful since there was a constant stream of students in all four rooms. The students seemed to be handling the death of the student well, but were very appreciative of having the dogs there for general stresses of the school day. Testing in particular was mentioned often.
The staff was very interested to learn that Mary Comfort Dog was part of their community. We look forward to visiting them again soon.
