On Wednesday, June 26, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Abraham (Trinity – Hicksville, New York) had just finished a visit at Mill Neck Manor School for the Deaf in Mill Neck, New York. As he was heading to the car, a woman on the park bench started talking to Abraham’s handlers and telling them about her fear of dogs. The handlers explained that the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs are gentle and sweet and are meant to be pet. With some guidance, the woman gently touched the back of Abraham Comfort Dog’s head. She had happened to be on the phone with her husband as all of this was happening. She was excitingly telling him she was petting a dog. She may never fully be over her fear, but at least she now knows there are dogs out there like Abraham who just want to be pet and loved on.
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.” John 14:27
