Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs.... What a team! They can do great things together! The LWML ladies of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Topsfield, Massachusetts, have been so supportive of the annual fundraising for LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Lydia (Messiah Lutheran – Lynnfield, Massachusetts) helping her to help others!

On Saturday, November 10, Lydia Comfort Dog, and her Top Dog Joyce Sauca and handler Crystal Brown, were invited by Sharyn Dahn to an LWML meeting at Our Savior so Lydia Comfort Dog could personally meet and thank the ladies. Joyce and Crystal gave a short talk and answered questions to familiarize the members with the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry and all the many types of activities the dogs are involved in. The greatest need for funds are the last minute airplane tickets needed to deploy Lydia Comfort Dog and two handlers to the site of a tragedy or natural disaster.

Dianne Newhall of LWML Topsfield has been the liaison between the Topsfield church and Lydia Comfort Dogs team, collecting used jewelry and handbags for the annual fundraiser sale at Messiah Lutheran, Lynnfield, Massachusetts. Her work has been so important. Lydia Comfort Dog left the group a Comfort Dog stuffie sporting LWML purple beads as a reminder of her visit.
