LCC's Hearts of Mercy & Compassion (HMC) Ministry Thanks Volunteers for Being the Heart and Soul of HMC

At LCC, we are incredibly grateful for the dedication and passion of our volunteers who work tirelessly to make a difference in their local communities. Our HMC Affiliate Churches are thriving with volunteers who are deeply committed to the ministry.

We recently had the opportunity to ask them why they chose to be a part of the HMC ministry and what it means to them. Their heartfelt responses truly reflect the spirit of compassion and service that defines our organization.

We are blessed to have such dedicated individuals supporting our mission, and we look forward to continuing to work together to bring hope and support to those in need.

“Every time I write or place a name on a heart, I also place that name on my own heart so that I can keep that person and their family in my prayers.”

“HMC allows us to give those in need of comfort, a place to reflect, mourn or express their feelings to victims and their families. It also allows us to use them to recognize, appreciate and honor folks for their work, good deeds or to just celebrate them.”

“It is really a privilege to take part in the HMC ministry and have the opportunity to see the Triune God actively working to comfort His people.  The hearts and crosses point people to God and his love for us, and when hearts and crosses are presented, you can feel God’s love for us.”

“There is peace in making crosses and hearts - can’t explain it, but I feel an extraordinary peace when crafting a cross or a heart.”

“I have found that gifting an HMC is always a meaningful experience for the recipient(s), as well as our team, regardless of the situation. Our team feels as if we are responding to God’s call by doing this work.”
