LCC never goes where we are not invited. The LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry NEVER charges those we serve. Over the last week, LCC K-9 Ministry teams responded nationally to multiple emergency site visit requests to bring comfort and presence to those suffering and in need. Funerals for NYPD Officers Rivera & Mora Blessed are the Peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God. Matthew 5:9 LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Abraham (Trinity - Hicksville, New York) with Police Ministry Handler George, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Coordinator T. Albright, and handler Donna were invited by Project Thank A Cop to honor, love, and support the grieving New York Police Officers, their families, and community at Officer Jason Rivera’s funeral last week. Officer Rivera was posthumously promoted by the NY Police Commissioner to Detective. Officer Rivera and his partner Officer Mora were tragically killed two weeks ago. On Wednesday, February 2, the NYPD and community will gather for the funeral of Officer Wilbert Mora. LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Abraham and his LCC Police Ministry Handlers George T. and John P. will share God’s love and comfort at the funeral for Officer Wilbert Mora. LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Abraham and his Police Ministry Handlers were invited by Project Thank A Cop to be there for the grieving officers. Please pray for the heartbroken police officers and their families as they continue to grieve Officer Rivera and Officer Mora’s loss. The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18 Libby Wollner Celebration of Life Visitation He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3 On Saturday, January 29, nine LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their handlers from Wisconsin joined together to serve with love and compassion the family and friends of 15-year-old Libby Wollner at her Celebration of Life Visitation in Hartland, Wisconsin. Libby leaves behind her parents, Ben and Jen Wollner, and her brothers, Clayton and JP. LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Candace (LCC Staff), Charity (Brookfield - Brookfield, Wisconsin), Dora (Lutheran High School Association of Greater Milwaukee - Milwaukee, Wisconsin), Hagar (Faith - Appleton, Wisconsin), Lila (Beautiful Savior - Mequon, Wisconsin), Mary (St. Paul's - Janesville, Wisconsin), Rhoda (Prince of Peace - Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin), Sage & Zoey (Concordia University Wisconsin - Mequon, Wisconsin) were sought out by Libby’s friends and family for a moment of comfort as they prepared for their final good-byes. During these difficult times, sometimes all we can do is be there to love them and to pray. Please pray for Libby’s family to feel the loving arms of Jesus to give them strength, peace, and healing during this challenging time. Visitation for Adam Holder Some comfort comes from just seeing peace and contentment. Some comfort comes from being present. On Monday, January 31, LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry Dogs Blitz (LCC Squad) and veteran Bob, Britta (LCC Squad) and veteran Dale, Butch (LCC Squad) and veteran Keith, Nigel (LCC Staff) and veteran Jim were able to bring some peace to the hundreds of visitors at the visitation for Adam Holder in Freeport, Illinois. Adam was the basketball and baseball coach at Aquin Catholic School. We are extending our prayers and sympathy to all his loved ones during this difficult time. May God’s peace be with you. LCC K-9 Ministry is responding to several more emergency site visits this week and will share how we are present and comforting those grieving next week.
