LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry Welcomes New Handlers

LCC was blessed to have seven affiliates from different parts of the country: California, Kentucky, Illinois, New York, South Carolina, and Wisconsin represented at the Replacement Handler training last weekend. LCC is happy to welcome these incredible individuals who have been called to go out and serve their home communities to share the mercy, compassion, presence, and proclamation of Jesus Christ to those in need.

The handlers spent much time learning new handling skills and building their knowledge about the LCC K-9 Ministry. It was a time to grow and learn from one another. Each handler worked with either their affiliate’s dog or an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog in training. 

LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry is one of presence. When the Lord calls, we must go and serve Him. Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send?” And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me.”

Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry is honored to welcome U.S. Army veteran Cathy Pauley and U.S. Marine Corp veteran John Quinn as handlers representing the LCC Kare-9 Military Ministry and retired Police Officer Tom Kern of Nassau County Police Department and retired Cpt. Brent DeRemer of the Rock County Sheriff’s Office representing the LCC K-9 Police Ministry.
