LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry Partners with Trinity Lutheran Church in Uvalde, Texas, for an Unforgettable Vacation Bible School Experience

Last week, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry had the wonderful opportunity to partner with Trinity Lutheran Church in Uvalde, Texas, and their Pastor, Rev. Mark Tews, for an unforgettable Vacation Bible School (VBS) centered around the theme "Never Alone," which was written and organized by Sue Davis of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth, Texas, who is the handler of LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Pax.

From joyous songs to engaging Bible lessons and creative crafts, the three-day VBS was filled with activities that reminded the children of God’s unwavering presence in their lives

A special highlight was the participation of the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog teams. They have been a beacon of hope and comfort in the Uvalde community since the heartbreaking tragedy that shook this community on May 24, 2022, and took 21 precious lives. The presence of the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs was a tangible reminder that we are never alone, even in our most challenging times.
 
Throughout the week, VBS participants learned valuable lessons about faith, resilience, and the power of community. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to making this VBS a memorable and impactful experience.
 
From the dedicated volunteers to the enthusiastic children, each person played a vital role in creating a week filled with laughter, learning, and love.

We are grateful to the LCC K-9 Comfort Dog teams Damaris (Memorial Lutheran - Katy, Texas), Joy (Gloria Dei - Houston, Texas), Martha (Bethany - Austin, Texas), Persis (King of Kings - Glenpool, Oklahoma), and Triton (Messiah - Plano, Texas), for being there for Uvalde during this emotional week.

After VBS, teams got a chance to reconnect with some teachers and staff from the Uvalde School District! We admire these educators so much as they are there for the children of Uvalde daily. Thank you for continuing to support our work in Uvalde throughout the past two years, it is so needed and appreciated by the Uvalde community.

As we conclude this year’s Vacation Bible School, let’s carry the spirit of “Never Alone” into our daily lives, continuing to support and uplift one another through faith. Thank you, Trinity Lutheran Church family and friends, for making this week truly special.
