On Friday, May 19, Rev. Chris Singer, LCC President/CEO, Tim Laabs, LCC Project Manager, and members of local partner church, Living Christ Lutheran Church, were present at Buffalo Grove High School with Hearts of Mercy & Compassion and markers for students and staff to sign for the families of four students who were tragically killed in an auto accident earlier that week.
Hurting students and staff were able to seek some comfort by signing the hearts and markers and sharing hugs and fond memories with each other. On the hearts, housing each student’s name, was scripture verse Psalm 34:18 which reads “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit”.
Thanks to our partners from Living Christ including Pastor Bill Harder, Gilda Karu, Marty Staehlin, and George Richards whose presence was also comforting to all in attendance. LCC K-9 Ministry was also present that day giving comfort to students and staff in other parts of the school.
