Joetta Morgan, LERT team member from Friendship Lutheran Church, answered the call for assistance from the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) Southeastern District. She traveled to Calvary Lutheran Church in Jacksonville, North Carolina, to help residents still recovering from Hurricane Florence that occurred last September.
Joetta spent this past week with a team of volunteers from North and South Carolina. They laid flooring, sanded and spackled walls to prepare for painting, installed door knobs, completed simple electrical work, and sprayed for mold and mildew. Before Joetta left, she presented the homeowner with a prayer shawl made at her church. Wanda and her husband were so appreciative of everything the group did. It was a wonderful experience and a blessing to serve.
