This past week the Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries (RLOM) Expansion Committee received donations, prepared and set up for its first-ever rummage sale fundraiser on October 22 & 23 for the new maternity home that will be opened in the Northern Illinois District of the LCMS. All week long donations poured in from generous donors. A special thank you to Our Savior, Carol Stream, Illinois, for hosting the rummage sale in their gymnasium. Donations filled every inch of table space and overflowed onto the floor below each of the tables. A special thank you to LCC volunteer Lois Prokosch of Immanuel, Elmhurst, Illinois, who used her special talent of organizing rummage sales to help RLOM do this fundraiser; and to her friends who came to help her. On Friday and Saturday, we served over 500+ shoppers to raise funds for the new RLOM Maternity Home. For a first-time fundraiser of this size and magnitude, it was considered a great success. Funds raised from this event to support these women and their babies are still coming in, so we do not yet have a total. Besides the funds raised, this event blessed the maternity home in many other ways:
God not only blessed the RLOM maternity home but also, through this event, new partnerships were established with the following ministries that benefited by the items we were not able to sell at the rummage sale:
We also want to thank our corporate sponsors for their donations that made this event possible:
An extra special thank you to the 51+ volunteers whose countless hours of service made possible the success of this rummage sale: And last but not least, a special thank you to all the donors who donated items for the rummage sale. Thank you for your generosity that touched many lives for the kingdom of God!
