On Saturday, September 4, LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry Dog Hope (Faith Lutheran - Marietta, Georgia) joined hundreds of others for the "Field of Flags" Day 9/11 Memorial at Kennesaw Battlefield National Park. After singing God Bless America, a bagpipe and drum corps led adults, youth, and even children as each carried an American flag on a mile walk to the park.
At the park, each participant planted his or her flag; in all, 2,977 American flags blanketed the field, one for each victim of 9/11. In addition, this year 13 additional flags, at half-staff, were planted separately in memory and honor of the U.S. service members recently killed at the Kabul airport.
This was a day that Americans from all walks of life came together, showed their pride in our country and gratitude to God for his blessings upon our nation.
