On Thursday, June 4, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ezra (LCC Staff) and his handlers, Mack & Nancy Borders, returned to the Lucas County Courthouse in Toledo, Ohio for the first time since the pandemic began. To honor social-distancing, they waited until mid-afternoon when the building was practically empty.
Ezra Comfort Dog was present at the Courthouse to provide comfort and reassurance to a young girl during their time together. He kept putting his head on the girl’s lap while she spoke and she loved him! Ezra seemed so happy to be there!
He will return to assist children and families affected by crime about once or twice a week on an as needed basis for now.
