![]() "Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn." Romans 12:15 Staff and students are heartbroken and deeply saddened after longtime gym teacher Heather Frederick at Heineman Middle School in Algonquin, Illinois, died on Sunday, January 8. She taught at Huntley District 158 community for 21 years. Heather Frederick has been a physical education teacher at Heineman Middle School since its opening in 2005. She was an important and inspiring member of the school community, and her loss deeply affected all those who knew her. Principal Mitchell requested LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs to comfort the staff and students at Heineman Middle School during this challenging time of loss and grief. Last Wednesday, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Hannah (LCC Staff), Malachi (St. Matthew - Hawthorn Woods, Illinois), and Samson (Zion - Marengo, Illinois), were present at Heineman Middle School to comfort and support the students and staff. The soft and gentle touch of Comfort Dog Malachi, Samson, and Hannah’s fur and their peaceful and loving eyes embracing the students and staff brought calm and comfort to this school community. The students and staff at Heineman Middle School were kind, considerate, and loving. The K-9s and their handlers were blessed to walk alongside them during this difficult time. A kind note from Principal Mitchell: From the bottom of our hearts, thank you from the entire student body and all staff at HMS! We felt incredibly lucky to have been able to spend time with the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs and their handlers today. It truly lifted our spirits in such a difficult time. Thanks again!! Stephanie Mitchell & the HMS staff and students Comments are closed.
