It was another wonderful year celebrating the Christmas season with all our friends at WINGS, a non-profit that provides victims of domestic violence and their children with 33 safe housing options in and around the Chicagoland area to help end the cycle of violence. On Sunday, December 10, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Tobias (Lord of Glory – Grayslake, Illinois), Ladel (St. Matthew – Hawthorne Woods, Illinois), and Ruthie, Jacob, and Hannah (LCC Staff) were hugged and kissed by so many excited children. One little girl, Emory, shared that she loves seeing the dogs every year and prays for them nightly. Another little girl who harbors a great fear of dogs, sat down quietly and petted their soft ears and giggled with joy! Her grandparents were beside themselves! Children made gingerbread houses with Princess Elsa and made lighted balloon figures, and had a great day especially with the dogs. They all returned time and again telling us the dogs are their very most favorite thing of all!!! Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus were the icing on the cake for all the little ones. It is such an honor to serve our Lord, bringing joy to children is a special gift indeed!
