On November 9 – 11, LCC Police Ministry Dog Shiloh (Christ Our Savior – Dixon, Illinois) attended the Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) National Conference on Law Enforcement Wellness and Trauma, which was held in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Members of the law enforcement community, such as police officers (active and retired), spouses and family, chaplains, police counselors, and others took classes to learn about handling line-of-duty deaths, preventing police suicide and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and ways to maintain overall wellness and good family relationships.
Police Ministry Dog Shiloh served in the support services area at the conference, where counselors were also available for assistance due to the difficult topics being discussed. It was a blessing to be there to offer comfort and to thank so many from across the country for the difficult work they do in the service and protection of others.
