Lutheran Church Charities held the annual LERT chainsaw training and service event workday at Walcamp in Kingston, Illinois. On Friday evening, April 27, Ed Boerman, LCC Chainsaw Instructor and ISA Certified Arborist, taught the Basic Chainsaw class to fifty-four LERT volunteers. On Saturday, April 28, ninety basic and advanced chainsaw certified LERT team members worked as chainsaw and heavy equipment operators, draggers and safety observers to clear Walcamp grounds of downed or damaged trees, limbs and brush.
