More Sponsors Needed - School Starts September 11 Giving Hope and a Future in an Otherwise Hopeless Situation Lutheran Church Charities has supported the education of students from the tent city in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, since 2012. Public and private education in Haiti costs money - there is NO free education. Our Lutheran schools also charge, but they are less expensive than the public schools. The cost of tuition is $65 per month. The civil unrest in Haiti continues to disrupt all aspects of life. LCC received the following update from Lophane Laurent in Haiti: ![]() Greetings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, The kids continue going to school even with all the unrest but God always guides them and their parents. Yesterday I spent a good time with the kids sharing the gospel and talking to them about their future. We have 4 of them who will graduate from high school in July. Please keep them in prayers, they are from the first group to get the scholarship program after the earthquake. Inflation is now 47%. Food is getting more expensive every day and there are no jobs because most of the businesses are closed and their owners leave Haiti. 70% in Haiti are not working. So I can tell you when you support a kid to go to school it’s more than a blessing. Please tell the donors thank you so much from the parents and the kids. May our God continue to bless each of you. We love you so much. Lophane Laurent
