Opening a home for UNWED MOTHERS in Carpentersville, Illinois Faith Lutheran Church in Carpentersville, Illinois, is a small congregation with a huge heart for mothers and babies. God has blessed Faith Lutheran with a parsonage in a gorgeous setting contiguous to the church. With four bedrooms and three baths, this house will make a beautiful maternity home after some remodeling and updating. Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries working with Faith on the terms of a purchase contract for this property. Meet the Host Church Family The official host congregation for the Carpentersville location will be Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Dundee, Illinois. Led by Pastor Bill Yonker, Immanuel is a thriving congregation with many opportunities for our residents to learn about Jesus and serve Him. We believe Immanuel will make a lovely and welcoming church family. Immanuel’s role is to provide spiritual support through worship, Bible study, and instruction classes and to simply love and accept the residents as dearly loved children of God. (The host congregation has no operational role in the home.) The home will be managed by local, full-time Redeeming Life staff under the supervision of Sheryl DeWitt, Executive Director. Financial support will come from the congregations and individuals who have a heart for preserving life through Redeeming Life’s maternity home programs.

Emmanuel Family Thanks LCC Donors and Friends for Supporting Family Members Relocation from Pakistan For over a year, the generosity of LCC donors and friends supported Rev. Karl Fay, Senior Pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois, in assisting a member family in relocating and reuniting their loved ones from Pakistan. Pastor Alfred Emmanuel and his family are very thankful for the love and support shown to his family since their arrival and during their transition to life in America. They still can’t believe how much love, support, and prayers they have received. They thank God every day for His mercy and protection during their journey. Additional donations for the family were presented to Pastor Fay by LCC Staff member Deb Baran. This financial assistance need has now been met. LCC received a letter from Gulfam and Anila Emmanuel to thank donors and friends for helping Gulfam’s younger brother, Alfred, and his family reunite after 20 years apart. To our friends and sponsors at LCC, Words cannot express how grateful we are for the generous help you provided in bringing Alfred and his family from Pakistan to live in the United States. The funding for their airfare here, several months of utilities and rent, and other initial needs, plus the donation of furniture, household goods, food, clothing, and even a car were blessings beyond anything we could possibly have provided for them. The faithfulness of prayer warriors was a special blessing to us all, without those prayers we would still be struggling! Life is much different here than in Pakistan; it was draining just to get the family through all the governmental processes, school registrations, job applications, and orientation required to begin a new life. We would never have been able to do any of this without your help, prayers, and support! The family is grateful to God for His provision for them through you, and wishes to thank everyone who provided financially, or with tangible gifts, or who prayed It’s impossible to thank each person individually: everything provided was needed, so an answer to our prayers. We are truly grateful for the support they’ve received, and would ask that you continue to pray for the family as there are more adjustments to be made. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, and thanks to all of you! Gulfam and Anila Emmanuel CLICK HERE to read the entire thank you letter from the Emmanuel Family. Christ the King Thanks Donors for a Much-Needed Snowblower
Last week, LCC volunteers Richard and Bonnie Habegger delivered a much-needed snowblower to Christ the King, Chicago, Illinois. Geri Brazeal, the Pastor's wife, was in tears when accepting the donation. She shared how awesome God was in answering her prayers. During the recent snowstorms, she watched her 74-year-old husband, Pastor John Brazeal, outside shoveling snow around the church, the parsonage, the senior house, and the house next door all by himself. Fearing for his safety and health, she prayed for her husband's protection and safety and then contacted LCC with a request for a snowblower. On Wednesday morning, her request appeared in the Make A Difference Newsletter. That morning within hours, a donor called LCC with a donation of a snowblower, which was delivered Thursday morning On Wednesday, February 24, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Abraham (Trinity - Hicksville, New York) and his handlers visited virtually with St. James Lutheran Preschool. The children had so many great questions and read a book together after they colored Abraham's picture. Our Preschool LOVED meeting Abraham and his handlers, Miss Donna, Miss Christine, and Mr. Mike! We all fell in love with Abraham, his demeanor, and his ability to "work and to play" - so beautiful in every way! The "humans' were excellent in describing to our preschoolers and teachers all about Abraham's ministry, his ways of comforting others, his body movements when comforting those who might be in a wheelchair or a hospital bed, his eating habits, what toys he likes to play with, and also about his siblings who we learned are in the family business as well! How proud Abraham's parents must be! Abraham's presence helped the children, teachers, and staff members, and our parents understand more of what Abraham does and who he is! Thank you SO MUCH for bringing this ministry into our world here at St. James Lutheran Preschool for our virtual RED T-shirt Field Trip! One day we hope to meet Abraham and his handlers in person! Meredith Johansson Director On Thursday, February 25, the LCC K-9 Ministry was invited to present and meet virtually with the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) during their monthly meeting. The Emergency Nurses Association is a national and international group of Emergency Nurses. Each month the ENA offers the nurses a safe place to talk and find support. LCC K-9 Ministry was honored to be invited to present and interact with these everyday heroes during their February virtual meeting. LCC K-9 Ministries staff member Dona Martin with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ruthie (LCC Staff), Top Dog Julie Blyckert with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Isaac (Redeemer - Spokane Valley, Washington), Top Dog Bonnie Fear with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Cubby (Redeemer - Fort Collins, Colorado) and Top Dog Jody Lockwood with LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Devorah (Redeemer - Fort Collins, Colorado) presented the history and mission of the LCC K-9 Ministry and then enjoyed spending time meeting and chatting with the nurses in smaller groups. The LCC K-9 Ministry teams met emergency nurses from all around the world, including Illinois, Oklahoma, New Jersey, and the Netherlands. We are very thankful that God opened this door to serve these dedicated and professional nurses. The nurses and other health care professionals provide each day care, attention, compassion, and healing to so many. Please keep them in your prayers for God’s peace, comfort, rest, and guidance as they continue to serve under great stress. On February 25-26, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Isaac (Redeemer - Spokane Valley, Washington) and his LCC K-9 Ministry team were honored to attend the 1st Responder Mental Health and Wellness Conference held in Spokane, Washington. Isaac's handlers Julie, Doug, Jody, and Corporal Terri Albright, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Coordinator, attended the conference. They were able to share the mercy, compassion, and presence of Jesus Christ with these dedicated men and women who serve our communities each day. The 1st Responder Conference supports first responders and their families as its goal is pushing past traditional silence and bringing first responder wellness to our Everyday Heroes. Those that attended the conference included police, fire, military/veterans, corrections, dispatchers, chaplains, retired first responders, spouses, professional staff, clinicians, and all who work in the public safety field. The LCC K-9 Ministry team was blessed to meet and connect with these everyday heroes and look forward to serving them in the future. Please keep the firefighters, police officers, chaplains, 911 Call Center operators, and military in your prayers for God's protection, strength, and peace.
