Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries, a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod, is expanding its MATERNITY HOME ministry into Chicagoland!
How can you help? We are looking for a home! The ideal maternity home would have five or six bedrooms, three to four bathrooms, a large family room, and a roomy kitchen. With faith, family and education as the foundation for all we do, the home would be situated adjacent to an LCMS congregation that desires to serve as the “church family” for our residents. Also, easy access to public transportation and a community college would best serve the needs of our mothers. For more information about how you might bless this vital ministry and the mothers and babies we serve, visit the Redeeming Life Outreach Ministries website at rlom.org or call 407-790-9745, ext.6.
Individual in Need of Donated Walker and Cane
Single Woman in Health Care Field Needs Reliable Car LCC received the following vehicle request from Pastor Karl Fay, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Palatine, Illinois:
Dear Lutheran Church Charities, Thanks for all the great assistance coming along side Prince of Peace in supporting two of our member families. Another individual that we have supported over the last couple of years has asked for assistance with obtaining a vehicle. She is also a recent immigrant from Pakistan and has her own distinct path that brought her to the United States. She is a single person without support or family in the U.S. trying to get established. Her father who lived in Pakistan has also recently passed away, adding to her difficulties. She has up until the COVID crisis been making due with some earning from working a part time retail job but that work has stopped. Prince of Peace has supported her by paying some of her expenses. She is currently preparing to take exams to be certified to work in the nursing field and expects to be eligible for employment soon. She has requested we assist her in attaining a vehicle which will give her flexibility to take a job in a healthcare facility once she is licensed. Peace in Christ, Rev. Karl Fay Senior Pastor Prince of Peace, Palatine, Illinois If you have a running vehicle to donate, contact LCC at (866) 455-6466. Joel and Lori Powless from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church L.E.R.T. in Frankfort, Illinois, helped a congregation member this past weekend from Trinity Lutheran in Tinley Park, Illinois, cut and remove a tree that was damaged during recent storms. The homeowners returned from vacation to find half of their tree on the ground, which thankfully had just missed their house.
The homeowner sent a thank you note and pictures of the work done. “Here is what is left of my tree. Thanks to your team and LCC for all you did to make this happen. The cross now faces my street as a testimony of Christ to all who pass by.” Current outreach opportunities for congregations MOOOVE THE MILK
PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER - FOOD PANTRY REQUESTS YOUR HELP
LCC received a thank you note following an LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry® Virtual Visit with staff at Agnes Healthcare Baltimore Hospital, Maryland, with LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Abraham (Trinity Lutheran - Hicksville, New York), Amos (Our Savior's Way - Ashburn, Virginia), and Kezia (Emmanuel - Baltimore, Maryland). Wow! Thank you so much for the lovely visit. I wish you could have been in each room to see the smiles and the way every person just relaxed. So beautiful, and such a gift! We thank God for you and your ministry. Our thanks for your presence, your kindness, and your prayers. I hold you in mine, that all will be well with you and yours.
As I think more about what it meant to have you at Saint Agnes, I know that the staff really appreciated the care and love shared by your team, and the prayers you will offer for us. Staff here care for strangers every day, often without acknowledgement. It was a startling change of pace to have strangers reach out and care for us, and initially a bit challenging to change gears to receive that caring in the middle of a busy day. The dogs were a wonderful ice-breaker, opening hearts up to more tender feelings and thoughts. They created a space where staff could receive love and care into those tender places we sometimes keep closed off at work in self-defense. I deeply appreciate you, both as a chaplain who cares for staff here, and as a person whose heart you touched and whose spirit you encouraged! Universal enthusiasm here for having an "in dog" visit with Kezia when things open up! Grace and peace be with you. With prayers that you and your ministry will flourish, Jan M. McDonnell, MD, MA, BCC Chaplain Saint Agnes Healthcare
