LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Lizzie (Trinity – Savannah – Georgia)
(June 2, 2019 – Savannah Morning News/Bunny Ware)
Stretching one mile down Drayton Street, from Broughton Street to the south end of Forsyth Park, one of the communities most beloved race/walk events reached capacity with 900 participants gathering on May 25 to honor our first responders, their families and our military heroes.
American flags were flying and there was a helicopter, along with armored trucks and dozens of marked cars from 18 of the 20 counties covered by the Two Hundred Club of the Coastal Empire. I see Georgia State Patrol Assistant Post Commander Cpl. Joseph Corlee and fellow officer Dan Chernich standing with Savannah Police Department Cpls. Richard Moore and Rebecca E. Henry.
