In the afternoon on Wednesday, February 26, five employees at Molson Coors campus in Milwaukee, Wisconsin were killed and hundreds traumatized when a former employee stormed into a building targeting his co-workers. The shooter took his own life in one of the deadliest shootings in Milwaukee. This is the 11th mass shooting in Wisconsin since 2004.
Over 1,000 employees in a twenty company-owned building complex were put into immediate lock down and held for hours following this horrific tragedy while first responders secured the area and began the process of accounting for everyone who was there that day. Surrounding schools and other companies were also put on soft lock down for several hours.
LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs were invited by Brookfield Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, home of LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Charity, to be present with victims, families, employees and the community who are trying to cope with this senseless tragedy.
LCC K-9 Ministry teams were invited by Principal Vickie Hall from Story Elementary School in Milwaukee this morning to be with students, staff and faculty to provide a calming presence. The school is located near the Molson Coors campus and many were terrified as they were placed on immediate lock down.
We will also be present at the Community Vigil being held tonight from 7:00pm – 9:00pm at Ridge Community Church, 4500 S. 108th Street, Greenfield, Wisconsin.
Please support us by prayer and if you are so moved, help us with travel expenses.
