LCC Ministry Teams Still Serving in Waukesha, Wisconsin, following the Christmas Day Parade Incident

At 12:51pm EST on Tuesday, November 30, a 15-year-old Oxford High School sophomore was accused of shooting in the building. As of this morning, four students have been reported killed: Tate Myre (16), Hana St. Juliana (14), Madisyn Baldwin (17), and Justin Shilling (17). In addition, two students still critical, five students and one teacher injured, and many students and staff traumatized by yet another mass shooting. One parent stated, “it’s a parent’s worst nightmare!” A 911 dispatcher also had a relative die in the shooting.
The LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs were invited by Pastor Matt Schuler and Mike Felten, Director of Family Life, from Journey Lutheran Church in Oxford, Michigan, and will be present tonight at the Downtown Oxford Candlelight Vigil at the intersection of M-24 and Burdick Street at 7:00pm ET.
Tim Hetzner, LCC President/CEO has deployed the LCC K-9 Ministry teams and hearts/crosses through our Hearts of Mercy & Compassion (HMC), Crosses for Losses Ministry to be present and help people who are shocked and trying to process this horrific event.
LCC K-9 and HMC Ministry teams will serve with open hearts to listen to the hurting, bringing them hope, comfort, and prayer. The hearts/crosses will be placed at the memorial at the Downtown Oxford Candlelight Vigil for people to sign and leave condolence messages, pray, and pay their respects to the four lives lost so far.

LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Anna and Claudia (Trinity – Toledo, Ohio) along with their ministry teams will be present during the vigil to help bring comfort and hope to all who are grieving.
On Sunday, December 5, LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Anna and Claudia (Trinity – Toledo, Ohio), Dove (Peace – Fremont, Indiana), Jael and Isaiah (Trinity – Hobart, Indiana), and Jared (Holy Cross – Fort Wayne, Indiana) along with their ministry teams will be present and continue to serve wherever they are needed throughout the Oxford community. |
