Several support dogs make up the canine missions group of the Charities Ministry of the Lutheran Church in New York City. The dogs, who wear distinctive vests [and have cards on which Bible verses can be read], have been providing comfort since 2008 in various tragedies that have occurred in different parts of the country, such as the recent shooting in Uvalde, Texas.
