The heart is a universal symbol of love. LCC's Hearts of Mercy & Compassion (HMC) provides a physical and spiritual symbol through the giving of a heart to someone who has suffered a loss or is experiencing serious illness. An HMC can also be given to honor service to veterans and first responders as an encouragement in the face of adversity. Given as a gift, each HMC provides the love and hope of Jesus through presence and prayer. |
Specialized Hearts of Mercy & Compassion can be provided for:
Hearts for First Responders: The blue heart will have the appropriate Thin Line decal (Law Enforcement-blue, Firefighters-red, Public Safety Service-yellow). Hearts for Military Service: This heart is purple, which is a combination of the six military branch colors. It includes a decal from the appropriate military branch (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, and Space Force). Hearts for Illness or Loss: The color blue is the color of hope and the fish a symbol of God’s saving grace. |
Lutheran Church Charities invites your school to order a Heart of Mercy & Compassion to be signed and given as part of your very special service project for the month of February.
Who do you know in your community that you can bless with a signed heart this Valentine’s Day?
Please complete this form to start the process of acquiring a Heart of Mercy & Compassion for your school. Because these hearts are specially made by hand and customized, we ask that you order only one heart per school, and place your order by January 19th for delivery by February 5th. If you have a special circumstance, please let us know and you will be contacted by an LCC staff member. LCC never charges those we serve, however, if you would like to help cover the costs of the materials and shipping for your heart, a freewill donation is gratefully accepted and can be done while completing your order form.
