Greetings, everyone, from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I want to thank all of you who have been praying for my Haitian people, especially after the big storm that damaged Leogane and a part of Port au Prince, especially in Tabarre and La Plaine. Last week my team went to La Plaine to do a food distribution where we served 40 families with a package of food for two or three days, depending on how many people were in the family. We are planning to go to Tabarre to serve another 30 families. Please keep us in your prayers because this area is very dangerous. I want to say to all of the members of Mission:Haiti and especially thanks to all of the members of LCC who continue praying for us and support us by sending money to buy food to distribute to those people who are in need. May God continue blessing you all. Lophane Please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation to enable Lutheran Church Charities to send emergency funds to Haiti to help provide food during the current crisis. Thank you for being a part of the Mercy and Compassion Ministry of Lutheran Church Charities.
Food Delivered Immediately to Those in Need Because of your generous donations, LCC was able to send funds to Haiti this past week to buy food, clean water, and cholera kits for those affected by the recent flooding. We received the following update from Lophane Laurent: Greetings, everyone, from our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. There are no words to explain our happiness. My brothers and sisters thank you so much for thinking of these people, and I want you to know that since the storm happened, we are the first and only group who visited them and bring food for them. We are going to another place to bring food and cholera kits because the leaders in this area told me there are a few people already touched by cholera. Please pray for my team, who will be traveling there, to have a safe trip. Thanks again to all of the members of LCC and Mission:Haiti and especially our sponsors for continuing to support Haiti. God bless you all. Lophane
Emergency Funds Needed in Haiti to Purchase Food After a Weekend of Heavy Rains and Flooding6/6/2023
Your Donations Needed to Purchase Food That Will Be Delivered Immediately The most urgent need right now is food. Lophane Laurent is in Haiti now and is able to buy food and deliver it to the Pastors in the affected areas to distribute. Blessings to everyone! It has been raining so bad in Port-au-Prince and there are a few blocks that are flooding. People in an area called Tabare close to the U.S. embassy and the international airport are asking for help and we can’t do anything for them now. Please keep them in your prayers as it still raining so bad. I can’t go out just to make a short visit. Please keep me in your prayers and Haitian staff. The video is from the Leogane area by the LCMS building. Blessings, Lophane Laurent Please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation to enable Lutheran Church Charities to send emergency funds to Haiti to help provide food during the current crisis.
Thank you for being a part of the Mercy and Compassion Ministry of Lutheran Church Charities. More Sponsors Needed - School Starts September 11 Giving Hope and a Future in an Otherwise Hopeless Situation Lutheran Church Charities has supported the education of students from the tent city in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, since 2012. Public and private education in Haiti costs money - there is NO free education. Our Lutheran schools also charge, but they are less expensive than the public schools. The cost of tuition is $65 per month. The civil unrest in Haiti continues to disrupt all aspects of life. LCC received the following update from Lophane Laurent in Haiti: Greetings from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, The kids continue going to school even with all the unrest but God always guides them and their parents. Yesterday I spent a good time with the kids sharing the gospel and talking to them about their future. We have 4 of them who will graduate from high school in July. Please keep them in prayers, they are from the first group to get the scholarship program after the earthquake. Inflation is now 47%. Food is getting more expensive every day and there are no jobs because most of the businesses are closed and their owners leave Haiti. 70% in Haiti are not working. So I can tell you when you support a kid to go to school it’s more than a blessing. Please tell the donors thank you so much from the parents and the kids. May our God continue to bless each of you. We love you so much. Lophane Laurent
LCC received a request from Jackie Rychel, Ministry in Mission to help with medical expenses for a resident of Jacmel Lutheran Home.
Donations needed to provide children and their families with food Through your generous donations, Lutheran Church Charities continues to provide scholarships for children in the tent city in Haiti. Each year for Christmas, we ask that you consider a gift of food for the children. Because of the current political crisis in Haiti, the cost of food has risen dramatically. We are asking for donations to provide each child with a food package of basic supplies that will feed their family during the Christmas break. Without this assistance, many of the children will go hungry. The cost is $65.00 per child for a gift of basic food staples. Please consider a generous donation to show the love and compassion of Jesus to these children this Christmas. LCC received the following request from our Mission Partner Jackie Rychel with Ministry in Mission:
$10,000 Needed for Cataract Surgery for Senior Haitians at Jacmel Lutheran Home LCC has received a request from our Mission Partner Jackie Rychel with Ministry in Mission:
Please consider a generous donation to restore sight to these Haitian seniors.
Thanks to your generous donations, our Mission Partner, Ministry in Mission, was able to bring Vacation Bible School opportunity for hundreds of children in Haiti. It was a great success and gave these children a chance to learn about Jesus and His love for them. In addition, meals were provided. For many of these children, the meal they receive at VBS is their one meal for the day.
Due to the current socio-political situation in Haiti, guest speakers spoke with the children via Zoom for Bible Study throughout the week. Tim Hetzner led the session on Friday, July 29. Click on the link to watch a thank you video from Pastor Marky Kessa: https://fb.watch/eC2tZnJ-5h/
