Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) continues to work through our Haiti Mission Partners, Ministry in Mission and Mission: Haiti to send emergency funds to Haiti during a current critical humanitarian crisis due to the political unrest. Thanks to your generous donations, LCC is able to continue to send financial support for food to our mission partners. The pictures below are from the food package distribution at the community of Bien Aime, in the mountains almost two hours above Port-au-Prince. Over 100 packages of rice, oil, spaghetti and canned fish were given out to the most vulnerable in the community. Pastor LaVenture thanked God for the generosity of all those who stand with them in this time of terrible distress. Fuel and food prices are still very high and many people have not worked or been paid much, if anything, in the last six months so there is still very little money for food. As of the distribution of the last few days, Mission: Haiti has distributed two weeks of food to more than 1000 families and individuals in nine communities in the Name of Jesus Christ. Thank you again for your support and encouragement. Because of Christ, Helen M. Roenfeldt, Mission: Haiti Please prayerfully consider making a monetary donation to enable Lutheran Church Charities to continue to send emergency funds to Haiti to help provide food for Haitian adults and children.
Thirty dollars will buy enough rice, oil, maggi, canned fish, spaghetti, and soup to feed one person two meals a day for three weeks. LCC Haiti mission partners are helping the most nutritionally vulnerable but need financial support to do so. Your generous donations have allowed LCC to provide scholarships for children living in the tent city in Port-au-Prince, Haiti so that they can attend a Lutheran school. One of the things that the school provides is a hot meal for the children every day. For many of these children that is their one good meal of the day. Last year, food kits containing rice, beans, oil, spaghetti, and milk were distributed to the children and their families so that they could continue to eat daily during the Christmas break. The current humanitarian crisis in Haiti has made providing food for the children and their families all the more urgent. We received the following request from Lophane Laurent, Field Director, Haiti: Good morning everyone, I want to thank you for continuing to support our poor children to go to school again this year. You know our difficulties, trouble in my lovely country. Sometimes our kids spend one or two weeks at home but they never lost more than that, we are so happy because since yesterday everyone can go back again to school without a problem. If it is possible for you, can you please add more children to receive the food package we share with our 40 kids in December? I know how LCC supports my people to get food in this terrible moment. Thank you so much and may God bless all of you. Have a great day with God. Blessings, Lophane Please consider a donation to provide a Christmas present of food for the Haitian children. $35 will provide a two-week supply of food for a child and their family. LCC is asking for your help to provide a Christmas food kit for 100 children.

Thanks to your generous donations, LCC has been able to send $26,000 to date in financial support for food to our mission partners. "Thank you Lutheran Church Charities for helping me support my village in Haiti. Ministry in Mission and Lutheran Church Charities touches many Haitians as I am a witness. They were able to help 50 families who are in need of food. Some of the families have no one to care for them; 85-year-old Icilia has no one to care for her except her neighbor when they can, 70-year-old Jeanette has no one to care for her and she has no job. I personally want to thank all of you who support Lutheran Church Charities for supporting the Haitian families. May God bless you!"
