LCC never goes where we are not invited.
We NEVER charge those we serve. We pick up all of our travel, hotel, and meals costs. We put boots on the ground within 24 hours (often fewer) from the time we get the invite.
On Wednesday, September 18, LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry Dogs Blitz (LCC Squad), Brandy (LCC Squad), Brutus (LCC Squad), Nigel (LCC Staff), and LCC K-9 Comfort Dog-in-Training Rahab were, once again, part of the send-off for the veterans on Honor Flight Chicago #94 at Midway International Airport in Chicago, Illinois. The September flight carried 105 veterans from three wars that involved United States military:
The Honor Flight organization is a network of regional “hubs” across the United States, each of which operates independently to provide a day of honor for military veterans. Founded in 2008, Honor Flight Chicago is the largest hub in the network. As the veterans moved through five processing stations in the baggage claim area, they were greeted by the Kare 9s. Many truly enjoyed seeing them and asked to pet them. In addition to helping to send the veterans off on their day in Washington, D.C., the LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry teams from Freeport and Northbrook (Illinois) supported the return flight Mail Call activity with 250 cards and notes written by ministry volunteers. On the way home, the veterans each receive a folder with letters from family, friends and community members. It was a blessing to provide love and comfort to all the veterans on Honor Flight Chicago #94!
