LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Gideon (St. Michael’s – Bloomington, Minnesota) received the following email after a recent visit:
Hi! I just wanted to thank you so much for visiting my grandpa John Knoblauch the other day with the LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs. You have no idea how much that must have meant to him. His dog JP was his whole world (my grandma's world too), and I know they've missed that loving presence in their life. I'm sure he was absolutely elated, and I'm so happy someone took the time to give him that feeling back. Thank you so so so so so much, John Barnet
Helen Roenfeldt, Director of Haiti Mission in the Florida/Georgia District has asked LCC to help our mission churches get food for the children and adults. LCC is providing $2,000 immediately for food but more assistance is needed. We have started distributing food through our partners in Haiti, to those we can get to, including the elderly, who need us to help with food assistance to get back on their feet. Please keep the people in Haiti in your prayers and any assistance you can provide is greatly needed and appreciated. Thank you for Making a Difference in Haiti. Tim Hetzner

As the ministries and services of Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) have expanded, so have the number of events and trainings where we serve food. We recently launched a new Food Service Ministry. This ministry is a supportive service run by volunteers to plan and execute food service for events. With the reorganization of the kitchen, we reviewed our ongoing needs. It was determined that we need an ice machine. We currently purchase anywhere from 2-5 20 lbs. bags of ice for each of our 30-50 events. Due to the increasing number of events at LCC where we serve meals or cold beverages, we are looking for a donation of an under the counter ice machine or an ice machine that stands alone on the floor. If you have or know of a church, school, bar, or other business that would be able to donate an ice machine to LCC, please contact 866-455-6466 or email lcc@lutheranchurchcharities.org
