On Wednesday, May 16, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Lizzie (Trinity – Savannah, Georgia) had the special honor to attend the fallen officers memorial ceremony with her law enforcement handler and a military veteran handler. God, please hold the families of all fallen officers in your arms.

What a pawsome day visiting local law enforcement! On Tuesday, May 15, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Mahlah (Our Savior – Milford, Illinois) and her law enforcement handler and pastor visited Kankakee Police Department, Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department, Watseka City Police, Iroquois County Sheriff’s Department, and the various offices in the Iroquois County Courthouse in Illinois. They delivered cookies, along with a Police Ministry Card and a “Thin Blue Line” bracelet. They thanked every officer they met for their dedicated service on our behalf

On Monday, May 14, Wichita Falls, Texas, had their Police Memorial Event to remember the officers killed in the line of duty. LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Elijah (Our Redeemer – Wichita Falls, Texas) and his law enforcement handler were there to be a comforting presence.

On Friday, May 18, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Eddie (Peace Lutheran – Grand Island, Nebraska) and his law enforcement handler attended a Nebraska Police Memorial Service. Police Ministry Dog Eddie visited with attendees, including Nebraska State Troopers and a chaplain.

On Tuesday, May 15, LCC K-9 Police Ministry Dog Shiloh (Christ Our Savior – Dixon, Illinois) went to Sycamore, Illinois to attend the DeKalb County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Service. Police Ministry Dog Shiloh and her law enforcement handler were glad that they could be there to honor the fallen, and thank officers for their service.

A Safe Haven Veteran Stand Down

On Saturday, May 19, LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry Dogs Flex and Brutus (LCC Squad) were honored to serve again at A Safe Haven Veteran Stand Down in Chicago, Illinois. A Safe Haven helps people aspire, transform, and sustain their lives as they transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency with pride and purpose. The day was dedicated to veterans and their families, by providing information from vendors and services, as well as, food and personal items. Kare 9s Flex and Brutus served those in attendance with love and comfort

Clearmont Elementary School

On Friday, May 18, LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Tobias (Lord of Glory – Grayslake, Illinois), LCC Comfort Dog In-Training Caleb, and LCC Kare 9 Military Ministry Dog Brutus (LCC Squad) visited the students at Clearmont Elementary School in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The students participated in an afternoon of learning about different services available in the Chicagoland area. Students visiting the Comfort Dogs had a presentation about what they do, time for a Q&A session, and most important time to love the Comfort Dogs

A special flag ceremony was held at the Washington Police Department. We thank God for all the brave officers who protect and serve!

They are so thankful for all of their local police officers at the Fremont Police Department that they took time to thank them with some delicious treats. Katie Comfort Dog and her team appreciate all that they do for Fremont.

Toledo Area Police Memorial Service

It was an emotional time as members of law enforcement, the families of fallen officers, and many more gathered for the Toledo Area Police Memorial Service on Friday, May 18. LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Anna (Trinity – Toledo, Ohio) and her handler were thankful to have been invited to share love, comfort, and support, as they remembered those who lost their lives while serving and protecting our communities. Mayor Kapszukiewicz remarks were very moving, and he requested prayers for the safety and protection for all officers, so that there will be no more families mourning the loss of their loved ones.
