Congregation Preparedness Training Print E-mail
church fire LCMS Disaster Response has put together the training and tools needed for a congregation to develop a plan for being prepared if a disaster hits. Not only that - Lutheran Church Charities (LCC) and the District Disaster Response Team are trained and willing to take your congregation through the plan. This takes about three hours with key leaders of your church. Members of LCC and the District Disaster Response team will continue to consult with your congregation, helping you through each of the various aspects to have a plan in place.

What is Congregational Preparedness Training?
The training will help the congregation to prepare its facility and its members should a disaster directly impact the congregation.

Having recognized that God often uses disaster to open doors for his Church to do ministry, participants address questions like "What are some ways that our congregation can offer Christ's comfort to the community after a disaster?"

Who should attend?
Pastor, church & school secretary, church & school maintenance person, member of Board of elders, member of board of trustees, business manager or church treasurer, member of board of education, member of board of outreach ministry, church archivist, director of congregational cemetery, and the principal of school.
