LCC Staff Attends the Northern Illinois District's General Pastors Conference This Week |

LCC President Tim Hetzner and staff members Rev. Roger Pollock and Deaconess Tiffany Manor attended the Northern Illinois District General Pastors Conference this week in Sandwich, Illinois. The Conference theme was Confessing the Truth as Citizens of Two Kingdoms. While at the conference Tim, Roger and Tiffany were able to spend time with the attending pastors and share with them the ways that LCC can assist them as they minister to their congregations and communities. |

LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Tara Visits Special Olympics |

On Sunday, April 28th, Comfort Dog Tara and handler LCC staff member Marie Payes, visited the Special Olympics Illinois Area 18 (Northwest Suburban Chicago) Annual Spring Games-Track and Field Competition in Mt. Prospect. There were more than 700 athletes, 1,200 volunteers and nearly 3,000 spectators. Tara and Marie greeted athletes, volunteers and visitors at the Hospitality Tent. This was the 18th year that Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in Palatine has sponsored the Hospitality Tent. |

On Saturday April 27 Lutheran Church Charities' Deaconess Dianna Bonfield, accompanied by K-9 Comfort Dog Zeke with handler Marissa Manor, attended the Central Illinois District LWML convention and talked to many people about the K-9 Comfort Dog ministry and other ministry efforts of LCC. They were warmly received by the ladies and had a lovely time. LCC is thankful for the CID LWML's support of K-9 Comfort Dog ministry. |

LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Brought Healing to Newtown, CT
LCC K-9 Comfort Dogs Hannah and Ruthie, along with LCC staff member Dona Martin, appeared in the April edition of Cesar's Way, the magazine from TV's Dog Whisperer. The article was focused on the healing touch that was provided by LCC and the Comfort Dogs.
