Home At Last! House Blessing Sunday, January 25 !
After
five months of being displaced from her home, with no resources to rebuild
and "feeling like a bag lady," Ruth is home at last! Sunday afternoon 43
people; LCC volunteers, family and friends; gathered together to celebrate
with Ruth and ask God's blessing on her newly renovated home. The Addison flood of September '08 may have taken all she had and left her feeling devastated and alone but God had a different plan. He showed His love and compassion to her through the LCC volunteers and members of St Paul Lutheran Church in Addison, who came together to rebuild her home and let her know she is never alone. Opening cards and gifts from people she has never met was an awesome demonstration of God's love. ![]() Following the House Blessing guests had an opportunity to share stories and experiences and visit with one another. Although it was standing room only for most of the afternoon guests stayed until early evening. This spring we will be replacing the windows in the kitchen, bedroom and living room at Ruth's apartment. LCC is looking for someone experienced in window replacement to consult with us on cost and the
best way to do the replacements. If you know a resource please contact
Dianna Bonfield as soon as possible at 866-455-6466.LCC has set up two photo galleries. To view photos from start to finish of the work done by the volunteers click here. To view photos of the gathering for the house blessing click here.
